The Morgantown Utility Board
was created in 1987 by the city of Morgantown under
the provisions of the Combined Waterworks and Sewerage
Systems Act (WV Code 8-20-1). The former Morgantown
Water Commission and the Morgantown Sanitary Board were
merged to create the Utility Board.
The Utility
Board includes five residents of Morgantown appointed
by the Morgantown City Council for terms of five years.
These individuals are responsible for the management,
control, and operation of the system. The Utility Board
selects a chair and other officers from its members
annually. The names and terms of the current Utility
