MUB hosts groundbreaking ceremony for its Star City Wastewater Treatment Plant
In recognition of the upcoming $101.3 million dollar upgrade to the Morgantown Utility Board (MUB) Star City Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), MUB hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at the plant on Thursday, February 2, 2017.
Last week, contractors for Morgantown Utility Board began work replacing roughly 3,000 feet of the Popenoe Run sanitary sewer interceptor. While the job will disturb portions of walking trails, the trails will be rerouted around the work site. Please note that the dog park will not be disturbed.
Morgantown Utility Board and Friends of Deckers Creek are hosting a rain barrel workshop on Saturday, March 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at MUB’s office located at 278 Green Bag Road. Only 15 spots are available for this workshop and previous classes filled quickly.
In 2016, MUB treated and delivered 3.4 BILLION gallons of safe, clean water. If you took that water and filled one gallon milks jugs, then placed those milk jugs side-by-side, they would stretch to the North Pole and back 42 times!
In recognition of the holiday season, Morgantown Utility Board will be closed on the below dates and times. Anyone experiencing an emergency during this period should call the Morgantown Water Treatment Plant at 304-296-4322.
