MUB closing customer lobby
In response to ongoing developments related to the Coronavirus, beginning Monday, March 16, Morgantown Utility Board will close the customer lobby of its 278 Greenbag Road office. The lobby will remain closed for an indefinite period of time.
Customers are encouraged to use any of the other convenient payment methods offered by MUB. This includes…
- Pay online by credit card or check at mub.org
- Pay via credit card over the phone by calling (304) 292-8443
- Simply mail payment and stub using the enclosed envelope provided with your utility bill
- Use the drop box located on the island of MUB’s parking lot
- Arrange for autopay by visiting mub.org
According to MUB Director of Communications Chris Dale, the move is to protect staff and customers.
“At the core of our mission is the idea of safeguarding public health. Temporarily closing our customer lobby is in harmony with our mission in that it protects our staff and customers equally,” he said. “In consideration of the rapidly unfolding events surrounding the Coronavirus, we believe this common-sense approach is very much merited.”
Asked how long the lobby will remain closed, Dale said that it remains to be seen.
“Like everyone else in our community, all we can do is take every necessary precaution to protect against the spread of the virus. Until we’re reasonably certain it’s safe for our staff and customers, the lobby will remain closed,” Dale said.
Dale adds that this change is only related to the customer lobby.
“All other MUB operations and services will continue as normal and on a normal schedule. Should additional changes be warranted we will notify the public,” he said.
