Morgantown Utility Board announces public meetings

Will share latest information on the raw water line route and gather public input

Morgantown Utility Board announces two additional public meetings to discuss the route of the raw water line as it pertains to White Park. The meetings will include information on the various routes introduced at the BOPARC board meeting held May 16th and provide an opportunity for public comment.

“The intent of these meetings is two-fold. The first is to gather public input. The second is to share the latest information on the various raw water line route alternatives.” said MUB General Manager Tim Ball.

The next public meetings are scheduled for Friday, May 24th at 12 noon at BOPARC’s Marilla Center and Wednesday, May 29th at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers. These meetings will include presentations by MUB followed by public comments, including a question and answer session and exchange of ideas.

“We hope the public will attend and share their concerns and ask questions. Our goal is to define the most acceptable route through or around White Park while ensuring a safe, clean water supply remains available for area residents now and decades into the future,” Ball said.

In addition to these meetings, MUB staff will make a formal presentation to MUB’s board of directors on Wednesday, May 22nd in City Council Chambers. The board meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.

MUB will also make a presentation to Morgantown City Council at their Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for Tuesday May 28th in City Council Chambers. That meeting begins at 7 p.m.
