Adjustment to Killarney Drive Bridge Replacement Schedule
The contractor for Morgantown Utility Board and the City of Morgantown will begin the bridge replacement project on Killarney Drive on Monday, September 14, 2020. The change from the original start date of September 8 is due to the fact that the company producing the precast concrete box culvert has delayed delivery by one week.
The proposed work schedule has the project concluding mid-October. During construction, Killarney Drive will remain closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the work area. While we anticipate that Dogwood Avenue will remain open, traffic notices will be provided as construction progresses.
The cost of the project, awarded to Green River Group at $282,215, is being shared equally between the City of Morgantown and MUB. The work involves demolition of the existing bridge, installation of a 13-foot by 6-foot precast concrete box culvert and end structures, sidewalks, road restoration, guardrail and fencing replacement, and other necessary items.
