Flash Back Friday to 1960
On this day in #Morgantown history the Water Commission purchased 108.26 acres along Cobun Creek for $19,475 with the intention of constructing a new raw water reservoir. Of course, we know today that the reservoir wouldn't be constructed because 59 years later we are constructing it! However, in recognizing the need to secure the large parcel of land and recognizing the ultimate need for a second reservoir, the Water Commission demonstrated extraordinary vision. We not only benefit from that vision today but exercise it in all we do. It's part of our culture.
