MUB to begin work on North High Street

Beginning Monday, May 19 and lasting for approximately four weeks, MUB crews will replace an 8-inch water line on North High Street. This work will require significant adjustments to normal traffic patterns while crews work between the intersections of upper and lower Prospect streets in front of Boreman Hall South. The changes in traffic will include the closure of:

  • North High Street from Maiden Lane to lower Prospect Street
  • The upper exit of the Mountainlair Parking Garage that provides egress to North High Street
  • Prospect Street from North High Street to the Mountainlair Parking garage entrance/exit.

In addition, upper Prospect Street will be open to two-way traffic between the Mountainlair Parking Garage and University Avenue. This will permit access to the parking garage as well as the loading docks for the Mountainlair.

The above listed traffic adjustments will remain affect 24 hours a day during the expected four-week period. Also, parking meters in the work area will be bagged and made inaccessible.

Commuters are advised that additional adjustments to these traffic patterns may be necessary as work progresses. MUB will provide updates when traffic patterns change.

This work is being completed as part of the City of Morgantown’s Streetscape Project. Questions on MUB’s work can be directed to (304) 292-8443 or customer-service@mub.org.
