Credit and Debit Card Overcharges
Customers who made credit or debit card payments to Morgantown Utility Board on Friday, August 27, are encouraged to check their accounts to ensure that the correct amount was charged. As the result of a software error on the part of our debit/credit card processing vendor, some customer accounts were charged more than authorized by the customers, some of which charges resulted in overdraft fees.
If you experienced an issue with payments made by credit or debit card on Friday, August, 27, please contact MUB at (304) 292-8443. We will make all corrections necessary, including the reimbursement of any resulting overdraft fees. We understand the unacceptable nature of such errors and are in the process of retaining a new credit and debit card processing vendor to help protect against such errors in the future.
