MUB to bore beneath University Avenue
Beginning Monday, June 6 and lasting until approximately July 1, a contractor for Morgantown Utility Board will begin horizontal directional drilling beneath University Avenue. The work, which will be conducted from Monday to Friday during the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., will require traffic diversions between Patteson Drive and Evansdale Drive. While flaggers will be available to direct traffic, residents are encouraged to avoid the area when possible.
This work is phase one of a three phase project to replace an 8” cast iron waterline with 530-feet of 10” HDPE and 202-feet of 8” PVC. No disruptions of water service are expected during this phase; however, water outages will occur when crews begin connecting service lines to the new main. Residents and businesses will be informed prior to such outages.
