Morgantown Utility Board (MUB) will issue a precautionary boil water advisory on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, affecting all of Long Street and Tower Lane, from Holland Avenue to Monongahela Boulevard.
The advisory is necessary due to a planned service outage to complete a waterline tie-in. The outage is expected to begin at approximately 9:00 a.m. and last until approximately 1:00 p.m.
Once water service is restored, affected customers should boil their water before consumption until the advisory is lifted. Customers are advised to bring all water to a rolling boil for one minute, allow it to cool, and then store it in clean containers. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until the advisory is officially lifted.
After service is restored, water quality samples will be collected in the affected area. These samples require a minimum of 24 hours for laboratory analysis before the advisory can be lifted.
