What is HHWC? HHWC Day is an opportunity for Monongalia County residents to drop-off hazardous household waste (see list below). Virtually all households have some household hazardous waste. HHW is generally defined as a household waste that is toxic, flammable, reactive or corrosive. A substance is hazardous if it has the potential to harm human health and the environment. Commercial products like automotive fluids, pool chemicals, pesticides, oil-based paints and wood preservatives are all formulated with potential hazardous substances.

How it works: You simply drive up in your car. You will be greeted by a MUB staff person and directed between cones. When you arrive at the drop-off area, specially trained staff will remove the materials for you. For your safety and ours, please do not exit your vehicle!

Questions: Call 304.292.8443 or email Chris Dale at cdale@mub.org.

Please note: We reserve the right to turn any person away or to refuse to accept any product. There is a 5 gallon, 50 pound maximum per household!

For the safety of event workers, participants are asked not to bring pets. If a pet must be brought, please ensure it is properly restrained. This has been a significant issue in the past.
