Morgantown Utility Board Events

Morgantown Utility Board (MUB) is proud to partner with local organizations and participate in events that promote environmental stewardship and protect our region’s water resources. Below is a list of events MUB has participated in or plans to participate in.

If your organization would like to collaborate with us or learn more about protecting our water resources, please contact Chris Dale at cdale@mub.org or call (304) 292-8443.

Rain Barrel Workshop

Each year, MUB partners with Friends of Deckers Creek and Downstream Strategies to host a Rain Barrel Workshop. The 2026 workshop, held on Tuesday, April 21, was sold out. Be sure to follow us on social media for announcements about the Spring 2027 workshop.

Make-It-Shine Cleanup

In partnership with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) and other community organizations, MUB participates in the annual Make-It-Shine spring cleanup.

This year, MUB and Downstream Strategies collected more than 1,000 pounds of trash from Edith B. Barill Riverfront Park and Trail in Star City, as well as the Popenoe Run trails at Krepps Park—including the steep hillside along Monongahela Boulevard.

Follow our Facebook and Twitter pages for future event announcements.

Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

This annual event gives county residents a safe and free way to dispose of household hazardous waste.

The 2026 collection day will take place on August 1. For more information, visit: mub.org/hhwc

Dog Splash Day

Dog Splash Day 2026 has not yet been scheduled. MUB looks forward to once again partnering with Animal Friends to highlight the importance of cleaning up after pets and protecting our waterways.
