Below is a list of possible detours to assist in routing around the University Avenue work. A map depicting the below detours is available by clicking here.

All traffic, especially large trucks, should avoid the construction area.

  • Approaching from downtown campus (Green on the map): Up Falling Run Road (this turns into Protzman St) then a sharp left onto Stewart St at the top of the hill, another left at the intersection to continue onto Stewart St, and down the hill to the University Avenue intersection
  • Approaching from Sunnyside (Green on the map): Left at the light to go up Stewart St, a right to remain on Stewart St at the intersection, a sharp right at the stop sign onto Protzman St which you follow down the hill (turns into Falling Run Road) onto University Avenue
  • Coming down Stewart Street (Blue on the map): Straight at the light to go down Campus Dr, left onto Beechurst Ave at the traffic light (bottom of the hill), left onto Fayette Street at the next traffic light
  • Coming down Stewart Street (Blue and purple on the map): Straight at the light to go down Campus Dr, left onto Beechurst Ave at the next traffic light (bottom of the hill), left onto Pleasant St at the third traffic light (across from the Westover Bridge)

Truck Traffic

  • Trucks approaching the construction area from downtown campus will have no choice but to take Falling Run to Protzman to Stewart St and onto 705, then left onto 705 to Willowdale Rd OR right onto 705 to 119 S and Willey St
  • Trucks approaching the construction area from Stewart Street or Sunnyside, should follow the Campus Drive, to Beechurst Ave, to Pleasant St directions as mentioned above
